Laluna joins international photography tiltSenior High School animation student Daryl Laluna is lucky enough to beat the deadline set last January 29, 2017 in the “I live by the Sea” International Photo Youth Contest organized by Today We Have team in cooperation with Ocean Sanctuary Alliance, Institute of Oceanology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Poland to the United Nations in New York.
Laluna is competing under 16 to 18 years old categories. The contest is open to participation of young people around the world and is aimed at using visual art in order to highlight issues related to seas, oceans and marine environment. Submitted works will be evaluated by a panel of international judges, experts in different in different areas - photography, marine issues and education. Winning photos and texts will be selected and presented at a special exhibition during the High-Level UN Conference which will be held in June 2017 in United Nations in New York. PNHS named Global Filipino SchoolPanghulo National High School, the first and the only school in the Division of Malabon City is among the lucky schools in the country to benefit under the Global Filipino School (GFS) program.
GFS is a long-term educational initiative that seeks to transform select public schools into centers of excellence in innovative teaching methods and Information and Communications Technology. Part of being a GFS is for the school to be fully utilized as a teacher training hub for the corresponding division in the Department of Education it is under. Both the selected school and DepEd are tasked to conduct teacher training to neighboring public schools within their division. Each school has a collaborative learning area for group activities and is also provided with a newly constructed ICT laboratory equipped with computers, Internet connectivity, and other multimedia tools. |
All systems ready for early registrationPursuant to DepEd Order No. 23, s. 2016, PNHS is all set for the conduct of early registration of school children on January 28 for the school year 2017-2018. Mrs. Lolita L. Acuña, school principal said that the early registration aims to ascertain the number of enrollees for the coming school year.According to her, the increase in the number of enrollees would guide them in the preparations of the school facility, books and human resources.
